PAUL DUANE WALTMIREPaul D. Waltmire, 76, of Cherryvale, Kansas passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at St. Johns Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma with his family by his side.Celebration of Life Memorial Graveside Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, October 25, 2013 at the Fairview Cemetery Pavilion.The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M today (Thursday, October, 24, 2013) at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas.Memorial remembrances are suggested to the Cherryvale Fire/EMS and they may be left or mailed to Wickham Family Funeral Home.Paul Duane Waltmire was born January 25, 1937 in Ft. Scott, Kansas the son of Warren Waltmire and Helen (Purkey) Waltmire." He grew up in Fredonia and Parsons and graduated from Parsons High School in 1955.On June 24, 1982 in Reno, Nevada he was united in marriage to Earlene Long and she survives at the home.In his early years he worked as an Advertising Representative for the Wichita Eagle." He later was the Plant Manager for Vallis Wngroff in Cherryvale from 1967 until he retired in 2002.Paul loved music especially playing his guitar, he also had hobbies of cars, motorcycles and playing golf.He was a current member of the Parsons Elks Lodge, past member of the Cherryvale Elks Lodge, ""Parsons Country Club, Lakeview Country Club in Cherryvale, VFW in Independence, Rotary and Chamber of Commerce in Cherryvale.Survivors include wife Earlene of the home, two daughters, Shelly Sumler and her husband Rick of Bixby, Oklahoma, Paula Muller of Maple Lake , Minnesota, sisters, "Shirley Willis and her husband Don of Ozark, Missouri, Susan Formenti of Springfield, Missouri, two brothers, Tom Waltmire and his wife Kay of Cherryvale, Kansas, Kent Waltmire and his wife Mona of Topeka, Kansas, three grandchildren, Lawson and Lauren Sumler and Cami Muller, three great grandchildren, Mattie, Kaydi and Bailey Muller.
