Patricia "Pat" S. Marr

Patricia “Pat” Marr, 89, long time resident of Coyville, Kansas, passed away, Saturday, July 3, 2021 at Morning Star in Fredonia, Kansas. Pat was born August 11,1931 in Fredonia, Kansas to William and Veva (White) Shields. She attended Fredonia High School, graduating in 1949.

Pat was a housewife, farmer’s wife and served as the Postmaster of Coyville, Kansas for many years.
On July 18, 1949, Pat was united in marriage to Harley Marr in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. They were married for 62 years until his death in 2011.

Pat was a member of the Coyville Methodist Church, Toronto Presbyterian Church and was a Fredonia Regional Hospital Auxillary volunteer. She enjoyed playing Bingo, quilting and attending Twin’s Conventions.

Pat is survived by her sons, Terry (Claudia) Marr, Fredonia, Kansas, Larry (Debbie) Marr, Coyville, Kansas, Richard “Dick” Marr, Coyville, Kansas; daughter, Lisa (Mark) Steiner, Wichita, Kansas; sister, Linda Farwell, Fredonia, Kansas; sister-in-law, Ardell Shields, Eureka Springs, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Harley, Pat was preceded in death by her two brothers, William Shields and Jack Shields, twin sister, Dot Marr and granddaughter, Latisha.

Graveside services will be held, 10:30 A.M., Friday, July 9, 2021 at Coyville Cemetery.
