Ora "Connie" C. Moore

Ora (Connie) Moore, 93, of Cherryvale, Kansas, passed away, Saturday, October 3, 2020. Connie was born March 31, 1927, in Liberty, Kansas, to Lee Roy and Molly M. (Tate) Goodson. She attended Liberty High School until its closing, her Senior year, at which time she attended and graduated from Coffeyville High School in 1945.



Connie married Marvin Whetstine, they later divorced. She later married William Moore, they later divorced. Connie worked on the Assembly Line for 21 years at ACC in Independence, Kansas. She also worked as a telephone switchboard operator in Liberty Kansas, Lee’s Factory in Cherryvale, Kansas and at the Ammunition Plant in Parsons, Kansas.



Connie was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Coffeyville, Kansas. She enjoyed playing Bingo, reading, and watching KU Basketball, Kansas City Royals and the Kansas City Chiefs, whether they won or lost. She was a wonderful friend, mother and grandmother.



Connie is survived by her children; Marilyn (Diane) and husband Mike Tarczynski of Baldwin City, Kansas, Connie Engle of Columbia, Missouri, daughter in law Geri Whestine of Plymouth, Michigan, son in law, Lynn Rucker of Chanute, grandchildren; Ronda Hicks, Ronald Tarczynski, Scott Whetstine, Shawn Oprisiu, Ed Ellis Jr, Jonathan Engle, Jennifer Engle, and Jessica Engle; and many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.



Connie was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Jack Goodson and Norval Goodson, sisters, Jo Transue and Martha Peydon, son, Gary Lee and daughter, Jan Rucker and son in law, Dennis Engle.



The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:00 P.M., Friday, October 9, 2020 at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th Street Cherryvale, Kansas 67335.



Celebration of Life Services will be 10:30 A.M., Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Wickham Family Funeral Home, Cherryvale, Kansas 67335.
