OLIVER MERLE WILSONOliver "Merle" Wilson, 85, of Union, Missouri formerly of Cherryvale passed away Saturday, November 16, 2013.Celebration of Life Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 22, 2013 at Wickham Family Funeral Home with Gerald Zuck, officiating." The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 until service time." Interment will be held in Fairview Cemetery following the service.In memory of his late granddaughter memorial remembrances are suggested in lieu of flowers to: Dr. Jennifer Wilson"s Foundation and they may be left or mailed to Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas" 67335.Oliver Merle Wilson was born November 12, 1928 in Braymer, Missouri the son of Hershel and Ruth (Cochran) Wilson." He grew up in the Parsons and Cherryvale area.On December 24, 1947 he was united in marriage to Lodema Ellis and she preceded him in death February 1998.In 1999 he was united in marriage to Victoria Gibbs in Cherryvale, Kansas and she survives at the home.Merle owned and operated moving businesses in St. Louis, Missouri and Miami, Florida.Along with his wife he spent time renovating two homes in Cherryvale on East Main Street until about three years ago when they moved to Union, Missouri.He loved to travel and traveled all over visiting family and friends.Survivors include wife Victoria of the home, two sons, Jack Wilson and his wife Patricia of Owensville, Missouri, Steve Wilson and his wife Lisa of Lonedell, Missouri, one granddaughter," Julie Vorthman and husband Mike, one great grandson, Andrew Vorthman.He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Dr. Jennifer Wilson on August 2010.
