Norma Jean Anderson

July 18, 1918 — January 5, 2007

Norma Jean Anderson, 88, a resident of Augusta, Kansas and formerly of Fredonia, Kansas, died Friday, January 5, 2007 at the Lakepoint Nursing Center in Augusta. She was born July 18, 1918 in Hebron, Nebraska, the daughter of John and Lois F. (Schlemer) Kaminska. She was a 1936 graduate of Fredonia High School and attended Manhattan State College and the Wichita Business College. On November 18, 1938 in Independence, Kansas, she married Wayne Harry Anderson. He preceded her in death January 4, 2000. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fredonia and was president of the local H.D.U. for several years as well as serving as a longtime leader for the Skyrocket 4-H Club. She enjoyed china painting and gardening, especially growing African violets. Her Survivors include: One Son: Bob Anderson of Towanda, KS Two Daughters: Lois Frain of Wichita, KS Myra Anderson of San Antonio, TX Six Grandchildren and Nine Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, John Kaminska; and one son, David Anderson. A memorial service will be held at 11:00A.M. on Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at the Timmons Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Denise Sawyer of the Towanda United Methodist Church officiating. Private inurnment will take place in the Farmington Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family has established memorial donations be made to the First United Methodist Church of Fredonia Youth Program or the Kansas Alzheimer"s Research Foundation.
