NADINE M. (WILKINS) TAYLOR, 95Nadine M. Taylor, 95, of Hope Mills, NC, formerly of Cherryvale, KS, died peacefully in her sleep on August 21, 2014 at the A.R.C of Hope Mills in Hope Mills, NC.Graveside memorial services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Fairview Cemetery.Born October 14, 1918 in Agra, OK, Nadine was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Mary Jane (Ternes) Wilkins and her husband, N.R. Bill Taylor. She was also preceded in death by six brothers and sisters, Ethel Wilkins, Louise VanCleave, Louis Edward (LEW) Wilkins, Floyd Wilkins, Creta Hudiburg, and Nan Brown. Nadine is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Kent and Vicki Taylor of Marietta, GA, a daughter and son-in-law Jillene (Jill Taylor/Thomas) and John Dolister of Raleigh, NC and a grandson, Kyle Kent Thomas of Raleigh, NC.Raised in rural Cherryvale, Nadine attended country school before transferring to the Cherryvale school system. She graduated from Cherryvale High School in 1935.Nadine and Bill were married on December 31, 1939, in Thayer, KS and made their home in Mound Valley, KS, Dennison, TX, and Coffeyville KS before moving to Cherryvale in 1946.Nadine was a homemaker for many years before becoming a seamstress and working at garment plants in the surrounding area until she retired in 1983. She was a member of the Cherryvale PTA and served as Home Room Mother while her children were in elementary school. Because of her love of bowling, she became a member of a Ladies Bowling League at the Cherry Bowl. A devout member of the Cherryvale United Methodist Church she spent many hours making crocheted items to sell in the Church Bazaar. She was also a member of the Methodist Circle Club and a prayer group.Nadine left Cherryvale in 2001 to be closer to her family. She lived for a time with both her son and her daughter. She moved with her daughter and family when they moved from Maryland to North Carolina in 2006. In 2010 she entered the A.R.C of Hope Mills, an assisted living community where she passed away.Private services and burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale, KS. Memorial Services are pending with Wickham Family Funeral Home of Cherryvale and will be announced at a later date.Memorial donations may be made to The Cherryvale United Methodist Church and they may be left or mailed to Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th Street, Cherryvale, Kansas 67335.
