Maynard B. "Mike" Hogan, 86, a resident of Neodesha, Kansas, formerly of Altoona, Kansas, died Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at Wilson County Hospital. He was born April 5, 1921 in Neodesha, Kansas, the son of Milo and Hazel (Ballard) Hogan. He served in the United States Army 1942-1945 where he received 4 bronze stars and earned the rank of Tech 5 during World War II. He worked at various jobs, including federal security guard for the U.S. Army. He was married to Mary Louise Hogan and they were later divorced. He then married Ruth Ann Burns and they were later divorced. He was an avid boxing fan and boxed in the Golden Gloves during his youth. He is survived by: Two sons: Byrle Dean Hogan of Neodesha, KS Michael Hogan of West Texas One daughter: Sherryl Towns of Rockmart, GA One step-son: Tim Busse of Altoona, KS Numerous other step children 12 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by two sons, Paul Maynard Hogan and William Dale Hogan. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, August 3, 2007 at the Neodesha City Cemetery with Pastor Jim Raymond of the Verdigris Valley Christian Fellowship officiating. A memorial has been established in his name with the Olympic Boxing Committee and may be sent to the funeral home. Family condolences may be sent to www.timmonsfuneralhome.com.
