Mary Lee (Welch) Dye, 72, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma formerly of Independence, Kansas passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

Mary Lee Dye was born September 22, 1950, in Laken, Kansas the daughter of Theodore “Kyle” Welch and B. Maxine (Eubanks) Welch. She graduated from Elk City High School in Elk City, Kansas.

On April 10, 1970, in Independence, Kansas she was united in marriage to Robert Isaac Dye, and he preceded her in death March 7, 2020.

Mary enjoyed her Dr. Pepper’s and loved being with her family, grandchildren, Chiefs football, crime shows and movies. She'll be remembered for devotion to family, friends, and her ability to make people smile. She was a member of Labadie Heights Baptist Church.

Brianna Malenchek, Amiya Malenchek, Stormi Lukens, Beck Dye, Jacobe Dye, Maddi Brown, Allie Dye & Jerry Herrman

Great Grandchildren: Brylee Dye, Jaylee, Dye, Adrienne Lukens, & Lilly Patterson.


She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sister, Kay Davis.

Cremation has taken place with a Celebration of Life Service being held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas 67335.

A private family inurnment will take place at Jefferson Cemetery in Jefferson, Kansas.

Memorial remembrances are suggested to Journey Home of Bartlesville, OK and they may be left or mailed to Wickham Family Funeral Home.
