MARY JO ERSKINMary Jo Erskin, 57, of Cherryvale, Kansas passed away Saturday night at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas with her family at her side.Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 A.M. Thursday, December 19, 2013 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Cherryvale with Reverend Andrew Heiman, celebrant." Interment will be held 3:00 P.M. in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Burlington, Kansas.Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church." Friends may sign the register book from 12 Noon until 5:00 P.M. at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th Street, Cherryvale, Kansas." Family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M at the Church.Memorial remembrances are suggested to the Mary Jo Erskin Scholarship Fund through St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and they may be mailed or left at Wickham Family Funeral Home.Mary Jo Erskin was born, November 16, 1956 in Emporia, Kansas the daughter of Walter J. Merritt and Ina Fae (Tobbler) Merritt." She grew up in Burlington, Kansas and graduated from Burlington High School in 1974." After graduation she attended Emporia State College and graduated in 1978 with a degree in Business with a minor in Accounting.On August 5, 1995 she was united in marriage to Jeffery Erskin in Cherryvale, Kansas and he survives at the home.Mary Jo was the owner of FFX trucking company an over the road trucking Company in Fredonia, Kansas." She also was the owner of Waves of Flavor Catering in Fredonia.Her favorite hobbies were cooking with love, camping and fishing, but she will remembered for her big heart and can do spirit.She was a past member and president of the Cherryvale Booster Club, St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Altar Society, and Bingo, along with the Fredonia Hospital Board, Fredonia Daycare Board and Fredonia Chamber of Commerce.Survivors include husband Jeff of the home, two sons, Scott McCoy of Tucson, Arizona, Bryan McCoy of Olathe, Kansas, two daughters, Melissa Veatch of Olathe, Kansas, Jillian Braton of North Kansas City, Missouri, mother, Ina Fae Merritt of Burlington, Kansas, one sister, Linda Merritt of Dallas, Texas, five grandchildren, Morgan McCoy, Max McCoy, Marshall McCoy, Cameron Braton, Wyatt Erskin and soon to be granddaughter Merritt Rose Veatch.
