Mark "Chopper" Glen Housel

MARK GLEN HOUSEL SR."Mark "Chopper" G. Housel Sr., 60, of Cherryvale, Kansas passed away Saturday evening at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.Mark Glen Housel Sr. was born March 13, 1956 in Almagordo, New Mexico the son of John Richard Housel Sr. and Twila Jean (Moore) Housel." He grew up and lived most of his entire life in Cherryvale and graduated from Cherryvale High School in 1974." He later attended Coffeyville Vocational Technical School to be a machine operator.Mark worked at John Deere, also worked as a machinist/welder and an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)." He was most recently working for Bug Busters in Cherryvale.Mark had many hobbies that included fishing, playing pool, tinkering with anything he could, fish frys, cooking and grilling.He will be remembered as having a big heart, kind, loving, caring and always there to lend a helping hand.Survivors include his children, Mark Glen Housel Jr., of Cobb Mountain, California, Jessica Dawn Buxton and husband Ray of Gower, Missouri, Brandin Marie Housel and husband Chris Owen of Loleta, California, father, John Housel Sr. of Cherryvale, Kansas, siblings, Timothy Housel of Coffeyville, Kansas, Jeff Housel of Edna, Kansas, Vickie Housel of Las Vegas, Nevada, Kimberly Harris of Independence, Kansas, John Housel Jr. of Cherryvale, Kansas, grandchildren, Jordan Buxton, Riley Buxton, Scarlet Owen and Owsley Owen.He was preceded in death by his mother and daughter Johna Gwendolyn Housel.Cremation has taken place with family receiving friends from 6:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Wickham Family Funeral Home of Cherryvale.Private inurnment will take place at a later date.Memorial remembrances are suggested to American Diabetes Association and they may be left or mailed to the funeral home.
