Marilyn Jean (Timmons) Reynolds

Marilyn Jean (Timmons) Reynolds, 79, a resident of Fredonia, Kansas, formerly of Topeka, Emporia, Hoisington and Goodland, died Sunday, May 27, 2012 at the Cherryvale Nursing Center in Cherryvale, Kansas. She was born November 19, 1932 in Fredonia, the daughter of Clifford W. and Agnes R. (Barb) Timmons. Marilyn was a graduate of Fredonia High School and the Newman School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse, retiring after 43 years. She worked in several hospitals, nursing homes, and clinics across Kansas, most recently at Interim Health Care in Topeka and Fredonia Regional Hospital. On July 19, 1953, in Fredonia, Marilyn was united in marriage to Norman L. Reynolds. They celebrated 58 years together last summer. He resides at their home in Fredonia. To this union, two sons, Randy and Erick were born. Marilyn was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, Women"s Mutual Benefit, Merino Rainbow H.D.U., and a weekly bridge club. She was an avid reader, exceptional seamstress, and enjoyed painting. In addition to her husband, Norman, she is survived by: Two sons and daughters-in-laws Randy and Sari Reynolds of Hays, KS Erick and Stephanie Reynolds of Fairview, OK One brother and sister-in-law: Rev. Garry and Mardel Timmons of Lincoln, NE Four granddaughters, two grandsons, and four great-grandchildren Marilyn"s parents, Clifford and Agnes Timmons, and brother, Marvin Timmons, preceded her in death. Funeral mass will be 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at the Sacred Heart Church with Father Andrew Heiman of the St. Andrew Church in Independence and St. Francis Church in Cherryvale. Burial will be in the Fredonia City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening, 7:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. A memorial has been established in Marilyn"s name for the Cherryvale Nursing Center employee activity fund and contributions may be sent to the funeral home.
