Louise A. Staley

Louise A. (Gilmore) Staley, 93, a long-time resident of Fredonia passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2014, in Springfield, MO. She was born in Lawrence County MO, December 26, 1920, the eldest of five children, to Walter and Vena (Cloud) Gilmore. She married Earl Staley on September 2, 1950 and moved with him to Fredonia. She worked at the Kansas Bank Note printing company and also owned and operated a dog kennel service with her husband. Earl preceded her in death July 14, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents and four siblings, Frances Gilmore, Glen Gilmore, Bobby Joe Gilmore and Shirley Glenn. Louise attended the First Christian Church in Fredonia. In younger years, she was an avid bowler and bowled in several leagues. She was also very faithful to walking several miles every day in Fredonia. Louise is survived by several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Fredonia City Cemetery with Rev. Gene Benefiel of the Buxton Christian Church officiating. Friends may call at Timmons Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 3, 2014, Noon to 5:00 P.M. and Wednesday, June 4, 2014, 9:00 A.M.-Noon. A memorial has been established in Louise"s name with the Alzheimer"s Association and donations may be sent to or left with Timmons Funeral Home. Words of condolence may be left on this website. Timmons Funeral Home, PO Box 168, Fredonia, KS, 66736, is in charge of the arrangements.
