LINDA SUE SHEPARDLinda S. Shepard, 58, of rural Cherryvale, KS passed away Monday, October 28, 2013 at her home with her family by her side.Celebration of Life Memorial Graveside Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, November 1, 2013 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery east of Dennis, Kansas.Memorial remembrances are suggested to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice or Children"s Mercy Diabetes Center and they may be mailed to or left at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas" 67335Linda Sue Shepard was born October 8, 1955 in Iola, Kansas the daughter of Dewey Smith and Frances (Brown) Smith. She grew up in Chanute and Earlton and received her GED from Neosho County Community College in 1973.On July 2, 1988 in Chanute, Kansas she was united in marriage to Leonard "Lenny" Shepard and he survives at the home.Linda worked for NuWa Industries in Chanute for 33 years working in the electrical department in the camper (fifth wheel) division." Ill health forced her to retire.She loved hunting, fishing, bowling and bingo." She also enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and other family members as her favorite pastimes.Survivors include her husband of the home, four daughters, Christina Porter and her husband Shane Henry of Joplin, Missouri, Jodi Robertson and her husband Humphrey Kiprop of Overland Park, Kansas, Misty Hugo and her husband Brad of Cherryvale, Kansas, Amy Whittley of Mound Valley, Kansas, five sisters, Shirley Anderson and her husband Vern of Topeka, Kansas, Kathy Henning of Topeka, Kansas, Betty Meredith and her husband Jim of Berryton, Kansas, Mary Spencer of Topeka, Kansas, Jannette Reidle of Independence, Kansas, two brothers, Russell Smith of Topeka, Kansas and Freddie Smith of Oklahoma, nine grandchildren, Kourtni Whittley, Bailey and Bryson Robertson, Rylee and Kamdyn Shepard, Lauren and Tyler Hugo, Haben and Lucy Kiprop.She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Dorothy Scobee and Goldie Smith, and two brothers, Dewey R. Smith and Chuck Smith.
