Leslie A. Wickham

August 15, 1955 — September 5, 2019

Leslie A. Wickham, 64 a longtime resident of Fredonia, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2019, at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute, Kansas.

Les was born on August 15, 1955 in Fairmont, West Virginia to Fay Summers and Mary Glover Summers. She graduated from Ironton, Missouri in 1973.

On June 14, 1975 Les was united in marriage to Craig Wickham in Ironton, Missouri and he survives at the home.

Les worked in Sales at Montgomery Ward and Sears. Les returned to school in 1990 and graduated from Independence Community College with a degree in Cosmetology. She worked as a hairstylist for many years and was loved by all of her clients.

Les enjoyed playing Bunco, watching birds, flowers and making jewelry. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and the love of her family.

In addition to her husband, Craig, Les is survived by her children, Benny and wife (Karen) Stephens of Fredonia, Kansas, Christy Schaffer and husband (Kyle) of Valley Center, Kansas. brothers, Philip Summers and wife (Jayne) of San Marcos, California, John Summers of Morgantown, Indiana; and sister Nancy Woodcock and husband (Matthew) of San Antonio, Texas. Six grandchildren, Kendall Pryor, Tori Heibert, Savanah Stephens, Brayden Schaffer, Kyler Pryor and Rylee Schaffer; two great grandchildren, Lincoln Heibert and Hudson Heibert.

Les was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter, Kara Pryor.

Celebration of Life Services will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday, September 7, 2019 at the First Christian Church 303 N. 7th Fredonia, Kansas.

Memorial donations are suggested to Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center Foundation or Ashley Clinic Cancer Center and may be sent or left at Wickham Family Funeral Home 510 N. 7th Fredonia, Kansas.
