Leona Lee Hansen

Leona Lee (Boan) Hansen, 85, of Chanute, KS., passed away in Chanute on Saturday, April 29, 2023.

The funeral service will be on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at 10:30 am at Wickham Family Funeral Home, Chanute. Leona was born July 19, 1937, to James Ray Boan and LaVerne Storey of Burden, KS. Leona was married and later divorced from Thomas Eugene Evans, and from this union were born three children, Larry Duane Evans, Diane Edith (Evans) Dixon, and Doris Leona (Evans) Hart. Leona is survived by her son, Duane (Penny) Evans of Basehor, her daughter, Doris (Ed) Hart of Chanute, grandsons Andy (Jolene) Evans, of Kansas City, Donald McIntosh (Michelle McIntosh) of Chanute, granddaughters Brandy (Scott) Wilson, of Topeka, Leann Dupuy (Chris White), and Nautica Hart, (Loren Trif) all of Chanute; her sister, Donna Laverne Tripp (Richard) of Chanute, and her brother Albert “Jack” Boan (Carla) of Altoona.

Great granddaughters: Kayla Wilson, Linzie Dupuy, Kalani Dupuy, Adalay Evans, Leela Evans, Remingtyn, Dillynn and great-grandsons Hunter McIntosh, and Waylon Hart and many nieces and nephews she loved.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Ray Boan, and Laverne (Storey) Boan Miller and stepfather Charles Miller, her husband Thomas Hansen, her first husband Thomas Eugene Evans, sister Naomi Nadine (Boan) Bluma, brother Lewis “Joe” Boan, daughter Edith Diane (Evans) Dixon, great-granddaughter Jazsmin and great-grandsons; Leoe, and Konner Hart.

She enjoyed sewing, going shopping at thrift stores, playing the slot machines, bird watching, collecting cardinal bird décor, and time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
