Leona Jane Dannels

Leona Jane Dannels, 65, a resident of Altoona, Kansas, died Tuesday, July 25, 2006 at Via Christi St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. She was born November 2, 1940 in Buffalo, Kansas, the daughter of Samuel and Rachel (Jordan) Solomon. She was a 1960 graduate of Midway High School. She was a retired waitress for several area restaurants. On December 28, 1962 at Altoona, she married Jerry Dannels. They were later divorced. Her Survivors include: Two daughters Helen Jane Dannels of Altoona, KS Becky Anne Dannels of Altoona, KS Two brothers: Charlie Solomon of Chanute, KS John Solomon of Chanute, KS One sister Kathy Gillihan of Lawrence, KS She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Grant Solomon and Nick Solomon. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, July 31, 2006 at the Altoona Cemetery with Pastor Jim Raymond of the Verdigris Valley Christian Fellowship in Altoona. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. A memorial has been established in her name with the Altoona Cemetery Fund and may be sent to the funeral home.
