Leon Ghramm

Leon Ghramm, 61, a lifelong resident of Fall River, Kansas, died Sunday, March 23, 2008 at his home in Fall River. He was born July 5, 1946 in Fall River, the son of Lawrence and Velma (Shinkle) Ghramm. Leon attended school in Fall River and graduated from Fall River High School in 1964. He served in the United States Army, October 1965 to September 1967. On December 23, 1965 in Fall River, he married Lillian Albin. She survives at their home. Leon worked as a mechanic at Brown"s Chevrolet and Giltner Motors in Fredonia. He also raised cattle. Leon gave back to the community by baking all the bread for the Fall River Christian Church for dinners, bake sales, and bazaars. He was also the master chef for his family. Survivors in addition to his wife, Lillian, include: his father and spouse: Lawrence and Colleen Ghramm of Neosho, MO one daughter and son-in-law: Tammy and Terry Williams of Emporia, KS two sons and daughter-in-law: Troy Ghramm of Toronto, KS Tuffy and LaTisha Ghramm of Fall River, KS one sister: Greta Ghramm of Carterville, MO two brothers: Gary Ghramm of Wichita, KS Lester Ghramm of Joplin, MO seven grandchildren: Brett and Dustyn Williams; Crystal Yeager; LaTasha Ghramm; Casey Scherer; Tayler and Marissa Ghramm five great grandchildren: Alexis, Cody, Autumn, Alexander, and Caydence He was preceded in death by his mother, Velma Ghramm and one sister, SueAnne Ghramm. Funeral services will be held at 10:00A.M. on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at the Fall River Christian Church with Rev. Steve Brodbeck officiating. Private family burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. Memorials have been established in his name with the Fall River Christian Church and the Fall River Children"s Fund and may be sent to the funeral home.
