Larry Dean Hooper

Larry Dean Hooper,74, of Cherryvale Kansas, passed away, Saturday, January 23, 2021.
Larry was born May 5, 1946 in Pettigrew Arkansas, to Denver and Betty (Martin) Hooper. Larry grew up and attended schools in Arkansas.

He served his country in the Army, receiving an honorable discharge. On May 19, 1967, he was united in marriage to Debbie K. Gross at Miami Oklahoma. They were married nearly 54 years, she survives at the home.
Larry worked for Buzzi Unicem USA Cement Plant for 44 years in Independence, Kansas and was Plant Manager until his retirement in 2008.

He was a member of the Independence VFW, American Legion, Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever and National Rifle Association.
Larry enjoyed fishing, hunting, bass fishing at Lake Fork Texas, woodworking, working on the farm and just working in general.
In addition to his wife, Debbie, Larry is survived by his children; Larry Hooper II, Chetopa, Kansas, Tony Hooper, McGregor, Texas, brothers and sisters; Vicky Hooper, Marty Hooper, Kim Hooper, Jerry Baughman, Gary Hooper, Johnny Baughman, Micheal Hooper, Jenny Lee Spatt, Mary Perry, Genevieve Ramsey, Anita McCoy, Rosie Baughman and Rhonda Sherwood, grandchildren; Samantha Hooper, Dusten Hooper, Teya Hooper, Larry Hooper III, Donuld Hooper, Huntur Hooper and Bayn Hooper, Great Grandchildren; Evan Dean Hooper, Amina Hart, and Bellamy Boe Hooper.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Carl Hooper and sister, Linda Barksdale.
Celebration of Life Services will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, January 29, 2021 at Wickham Family Funeral Home 216 East 4th Street, Cherryvale, Kansas 67335. Visitation will be Thursday, January 28, 2021 from 5:00-7:00PM at the funeral home.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Program and may left at or mailed to the funeral home.
