Larry A. Dawson

Larry A. Dawson, 72, of Independence, Kansas passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Montgomery Place in Indepednence.
Larry A. Dawson was born April 14, 1946 in Independence the son of Jack Dawson and Eunice (Killen) Dawson. He grew up in Independence and attended Zion Lutheran Schools.
He worked as a small engine mechanic owning Larry’s Small Engine Repair in Independence.
Larry’s favorite hobbies were taking care of his cat Baby and he would do anything to help kids.
He lived in Independence all his life and was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his siblings, Jim Friley of Coffeyville, Kansas, Grace Hagan of Independence, Kansas, Sherry Jewett of Cherryvale, Kansas, niece, Peggy Wittum her husband Terry and their daughter Kaylee of Independence, Kansas, special friend, Doris Sholly of Independence, Kansas and many other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Celebration of Life Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, October 29, 2018 at New Hope Christian Church, 908 East 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas. Friends may sign the register book from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the church Monday.
Interment will follow services at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence.
