Judith (Judy) Ann Peterson

Judith (Judy) Ann Peterson died Monday, September 4th, 2017 at the age of 73 after a long illness. She died at home.

Judy Peterson was born October 7th, 1943 at Petrolia, Kansas to Roy and Mildred Corn. She attended schools in Independence. She graduated from Pittsburg State University in 1966 with a BS in Home Economics secondary education.

She married Charles E. Peterson July 29, 1966 at the Church of the Brethren in Independence.

She taught high school at Abilene, Kansas. In 1989 she was employed as a Child Care Facility Surveyor for Montgomery, Woodson and Elk countries for the Department of Health and Environment.

She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Cherryvale, KS.

She is survived by her husband of the home and two children, David and wife Leanne of Edmond, OK and Michelle Ellison and husband Dwight of Cherryvale, KS and 4 grandchildren, Tyler Sale, Kelci Sale, Cole Peterson and Reed Peterson. She is also survived by one sister, Shirley Hattan and one brother Steve Corn.

Celebration of Life Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at First Southern Baptist Church in Cherryvale. Friends may sign the register book at Wickham Family Funeral Home from 6:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. Monday, September 11, 2017 when the family will also receive friends.

Interment will be held in Mount Hope Cemetery in Independence.
