Joyce E. Eisele, 88, a resident of Fredonia, Kansas, died Saturday, July 8, 2006 at her home. She was born April 26, 1918 in Fredonia, Kansas, the daughter of Roy L. and Elsie M. (Keesling) Wolever. She was a 1936 graduate of Altoona High School and a 1939 graduate of the Wesley School of Nursing in Wichita. She was a registered nurse and a "pioneer" airline stewardess with TWA. She later worked in hospitals, public health, nursing homes, was a school nurse and taught nurse aide classes. On November 25, 1942, she married William M. Dickson. They were later divorced. On December 23, 1971, in Fredonia, she married George F. Eisele Sr. He preceded her in death October 23, 2004. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Fredonia. She was active in Garden Club and Library Club. Her Survivors include: Two daughters & sons-in-law Billie & Mike Fulghum of Fredonia, KS Patricia & Don Grim of Central City, NE Two step-sons Fred Eisele of Fredonia, KS Norman Eisele of Fredonia, KS One step-daughter Elaine Ralston of Wichita, KS Three grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one step-daughter, Betty Ann Eisele. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at the Fredonia City Cemetery with Rev. Steve Brodbeck of the First Christian Church officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. A memorial has been established in her name with the Wildflower Tour and may be sent to the funeral home.
