Joseph J. Sandbothe

Joseph John Sandbothe, 88, died Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Eureka Nursing Center in Eureka, Kansas. He was born June 26, 1926, in Fredonia, Kansas, the son of Frank and Denna (Lock) Sandbothe. He married Sharon Prunty on July 15, 1953 and she preceded him in death September 2, 2009. He retired as owner of Sandbothe Industrial Woodwork in Wichita after 35 years. He owned J & S Orchard in rural Fredonia from 1979-2006 and also co- owned Fredonia Sawmill. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II where he received the Victory Medal. Survivors include: One daughter and son-in-law " Pamela & Jerry Ebel of Fredonia, Kansas Five grandchildren " Ashlie Tillman of Orlando, Florida Travis Ebel of Fayetteville, Arkansas Colter, Dalton, McKenzie & Meghen Sandbothe of Iola, Kansas One great grandchild" Deklen Tillman He was preceded in death by son, J. B. Sandbothe, two brothers and four sisters. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 10, 2014 at Timmons Funeral Home. A memorial has been established in Joe"s name with the Alzheimer Association and contributions may be left at the funeral home.
