Jimmie Joe Wade

Jimmie J. Wade, 83, of Cherryvale, Kansas passed away at Diversicare of Chanute, Friday, March 30, 2018 with his family by his side.
Jimmie Joe Wade was born October 12, 1934 in Cherryvale the son of Martin Mark Wade and Gertrude Alta (WcWhirt) Wade. He grew up in Cherryvale and attended Cherryvale Schools.
He was united in marriage in 1960 to Marilyn Allen in Miami, Oklahoma and she preceded him in death July 29, 2012.
Jimmie was drafted and served with the United States Army and was honorably discharged after his duties.
Jimmie held various jobs though out his life working for Western Union for 15 years, owned and operated a motel and steak house in Russell, Kansas and a Dairy Queen in Caney, Kansas. He also was a self-employed electrician.
He enjoyed antiques and going to auctions. His favorite hobby was to go and watch his grandkids various events.
Jimmie attended the Bible Holiness Church in Cherryvale.
Survivors include his children, Vicki Jo Shawcraft and her husband Ed of Colorado, Tina Humphery and her husband John of Fredonia, Kansas, Peggy Schemper and her husband Greg of Yates Center, Kansas, Mike Wade and his fiancé Angie of Cherryvale, sisters, Bonnie Tucker of Independence, Kansas, Christie McCardie of Phoenix, Arizona, 12 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dickie Wade.
Celebration of Life Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Bible Holiness Church, 606 Park Street, Cherryvale, Kansas 67335.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday, April 2, 2018 at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas 67335.
Memorial remembrances are suggested to the Bible Holiness Church and they may be left or mailed to the funeral home.
