Jerry Marvin Morgan

Jerry Marvin Morgan, 74, a resident of Braman,Oklahoma, died Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Select Specialty Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. He was born November 15, 1936 in Sycamore, Kansas, the son of Clyde F. and Lenora (Seckman) Morgan. Jerry joined the United States Air Force in 1954, achieving the rank of Tech Sergeant. He retired after 20 years of military service in 1975. In 1978, he became a computer engineer for AT&T, where he retired in 1998. On July 29, 1961 in Fredonia, Kansas, Jerry married Shelia May Shultz. She survives at their home in Braman. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons) and the V.F.W. He enjoyed spending free time fishing. Survivors, in addition to his wife, Shelia, include: Three daughters: Marsha E. Tucker of Tonkawa, OK Cynthia and Don Dankworth of Leander, TX Lenora and Douglas Best of Catawassi, MO One son: Steven R. and Sherry Morgan of Newkirk, OK One sister: Carol Ford of Bartlesville, OK One brother: David & Joann Ford of Taylorville, UT Ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild also survive. Jerry"s parents; son, Joseph Morgan; step-father, E.J. Vollmer; step-mother, Nadine Frost Morgan; sisters, Annis R. Cornett; and brothers, Junior C. Morgan, Derold "Butch" Ford, and Donald L. Ford preceded him in death. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at Maple Grove Cemetery near Roper, Kansas, with military rites conducted by the McConnell Air Force Base Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at Timmons Funeral Home on Tuesday evening, 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. Memorial donations in Jerry"s name may be given to a charity of the donor"s choice.
