Jeanetta "Dub" Elizabeth Shue

Jeanetta Elizabeth "Dub" Shue, 86, a lifelong resident of Fredonia, Kansas died Monday, March 11, 2013 at her home in Fredonia. She was born September 17, 1926 in Fredonia, one of six children born to Howard and Cora (Smith) Cunningham. Dub was a 1944 graduate of Fredonia High School and attended Huntington College in Indiana. On March 7, 1948 in Neodesha, Kansas, she was united in marriage to Dr. Charles E. Shue Jr. Dr. Shue preceded her in death September 24, 1998. Through the years, Dub worked as a telephone operator, at Kansas Bank Note Company, and was the receptionist for her husband"s chiropractic practice in Fredonia. Dub attended the Cornerstone Christian Church in Fredonia. She was very passionate about the care and appearance of her lawn. She was known for driving countless hours around the community, checking on all of her friends and family. Her survivors include: One daughter and son-in-law: Cheryl and Don Everhart of Olathe, KS One brother: Wendell F. Cunningham of Wichita, KS One sister: Billie Johnson of Fredonia, KS One granddaughter and husband: Drs. Heather and Paul Walz of Auburn, AL One-step grandson: Andy Everhart of Olathe, KS Three great-grandchildren: Jacob, Katie and Maddie Walz of Auburn, AL She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Carmelita Lucas; and two brothers, Howard E. Cunningham and Dillon Dean Cunningham. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Timmons Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Hughes of the Cornerstone Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in the Fredonia City Cemetery. A visitation has been scheduled from 4:00-6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 13 at Timmons Funeral Home. The Jeanetta Shue Educational Scholarship has been established and contributions can be left at or sent to Timmons Funeral Home. Words of condolence for the family may be left on this website.
