James E. Carroll

James Edward Carroll, 76, of Great Bend, Kansas passed away Sunday, July 5, 2020.
James Edward Carroll was born March 14, 1944 in Neodesha, Kansas the son of Johnnie Carroll and Norma (Marlett) Carroll. He grew up in Fredonia and graduated from Fredonia High School in 1962. He attended Pittsburg State University and graduated from Providence, St. Margaret's School of Radiology in Kansas City, Kansas 1981
He served in the United States Army from 1962 thru 1965 and was honorably discharged
He worked as a radiologist and retired in 2005.
James married Hattie Sue Deeds June 19,1965 and was later divorced. He then married Vivian Elizabeth Ford in 1983 until her death February 7, 2003. He later married Betty Jean Hawthorne July 19, 2008.
He enjoyed going to mountain men - black powder gun events, military shows.
Survivors include his wife Betty Jean Hawthorne Carroll. Children Deanna Carroll of Lane, Kansas, George Carroll of Wichita, Kansas, Fathom Good of Adrian, Missouri, Heather Wipff of Cisco, Texas, Robin Hoevet of Sayre, Oklahoma, Brandy Conard of Caney, Kansas, Jonathan Sokoll of Newalla, Oklahoma, Jimmy Carroll of Sayre, Oklahoma, Aaron Carroll of Palm Bay, Florida and 10 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Johnnie & Norma Carroll, Vivian Elizabeth Ford, son John Carter Jr., and sister Johanna Franks.
Celebration of Life Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 510 North 7th, Fredonia, Kansas.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home.
Interment will be held in the Fredonia City Cemetery with military honors.
Memorial remembrances are suggested to the Avenue of Flags and they may be left or mailed to the funeral home.
