J.R. (Doran) Raine

Doran R. (J.R.) Raine, 68, a resident of the Toronto Lake area, died Monday, May 15, 2006, at Fredonia Regional Hospital in Fredonia, Kansas. He was born January 13, 1938 in Wichita, Kansas, the son of Doran R. and Gwendolyn L. (Killion) Raine Sr. He was a retired purchasing manager for McDonell-Douglas Aircraft Company in Tulsa after 25 years of employment. He was also a race car owner and driver in the NCRA Circuit for over 45 years. On June 1, 1957 in Conway Springs, Kansas, he married Janet F. Rhodes. She survives at their home. He was a member of the Coyville Christian Church, Midian Shrine, and Woodson County Masonic Lodge A.F.&A.M. Survivors, in addition to his wife, Janet, include: Two sons and spouses: Michael & Gerry Raine of Wichita, KS; D. Robert & Paula Raine of Wichita, KS One daughter and spouse: Vicky and Barry Farley of Augusta, KS Two brothers and spouses: Donald & Sandy Raine of Coyville, KS; Gary & Donna Raine of Haysville, KS His step mother: Edith Raine of Wichita, KS Four grandchildren: Ricky Nongard, Rachel Nongard, Emily Raine & Natalie Raine He was preceded in death by his parents and his foster brother, Boone Zane. Graveside services with Masonic Rites will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, May 19, 2006, at the Coyville Cemetery with Lindsey Sullivan officiating. The family will receive friends at Timmons Funeral Home on Thursday, 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. A memorial has been established in his name with the Coyville Christian Church and may be sent to the funeral home.
