Iva Alice Bachelder

Iva Alice (Erbe) Bachelder, 90, a resident of Tomball, Texas, formerly of Weslaco, Texas, died Thursday, December 23, 2010 at The Heritage Retirement Community in Tomball. She was born November 7, 1920 in Wilson County, Kansas, the daughter of Edward and Iva Carol (Newland) Erbe. She was retired from Tex-Sun Corporation in Weslaco where she was a bookkeeper for more than 25 years. On January 16, 1942, Iva was joined in marriage to Jesse Ward Bachelder. He preceded her in death on January 21, 1991. She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, 6 sisters and a step-daughter. Iva is survived by: Five children: Jess Bachelder of Spring, TX Virginia Clark of Houston, TX Nancy Rayburn of Spring, TX Mike Bachelder of Cheyenne, WY Pat Bachelder of Cedar Park, TX One sister: Edna Ruth Erbe of Wilmington, NC Fourteen Grandchildren Eighteen Great Grandchildren One Great Great Grandchild Her hobbies included quilting, bear and doll making, knitting, crossword puzzles and she was a long-time baseball fan. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the Harrison Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be sent to the National Kidney Foundation or left with the funeral home.
