Herby J. House

Herby J. House, 67, a longtime resident of the Wichita and Douglass, Kansas, formerly of Howard, Kansas, area died Monday, June 30, 2014 at the Robert Dole V.A. Hospital in Wichita. He was born November 23, 1946 in Wichita, the son of Henry E. and June Bell (Clark) House. Herby was a graduate of Howard High School and attended Pittsburg State University. He joined the United States Navy April 1, 1966 to April 9, 1969, serving two tours in Vietnam as a Navy Seabee. Following his honorable discharge, he worked at Cessna in Wichita for many years. In his spare time, Herby enjoyed attending auctions and loved the rural outdoor life. Herby"s survivors include: One son: Larry A. House of Wichita, KS One grandson: Toby House of Wichita, KS Two sisters: Donna (Donald) Nelson of Mulvane, KS Peggy (John) Williamson of Lyons, KS His parents, Henry and June House preceded him in death. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, July 7, 2014 at Timmons Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Benefiel of the Buxton Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in the Fredonia City Cemetery with military rites. A memorial has been established in Herby"s name with the AMVETS and contributions can be sent to or left at the funeral home.
