HELEN LOUISE EIKENBERRYHelen Louise "Eikie" Eikenberry, 98, of Cherryvale, Kansas passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Montgomery place in Independence, Kansas.Helen Louise Eikenberry was born July 18, 1916 in rural Montgomery County, Kansas the daughter of Albert Franklin Hudiburg and Lillian (Drennon) Hudiburg. She grew up in Cherryvale and graduated from Cherryvale High School in 1933.On August 30, 1934 in Independence she was united in marriage to John Robert Eikenberry and he preceded her in death April 25, 1998.Louise worked for Reliance Manufacturing and Renfros Dry Goods in Cherryvale and also worked for JC Penney in Independence for 17 years retiring in 1978.She was a member of the Cherryvale Women"s Civic Club, Stitch and Chatter Club, Cherryvale United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. Louise loved to cook, crochet and bake where she will be remembered for her brownies and angel food cake.Survivors include daughter, Phyllis Blake of Cherryvale, Kansas, two grandchildren, Lisa DeBolt and her husband Jerry of Jenks, Oklahoma, Tim Blake and his wife Perri of Tulsa, Oklahoma, seven great grandchildren, Chandler DeBolt, Christa DeBolt, Allen Strickland, Zachrey Blake, Ashley Essary, Jillian Blake, Harrison Blake, two great great grandchildren, Sydney Strickland and Gavin Strickland.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, Glen, Paul, Forrest and Eugene Hudiburg, three sisters, Frances Hall, Fern Froebe, and Hazel Rozel and grandchildren, Jeff and Cindy Blake.Celebration of Life Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 29, 2014 at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas. The family will receive friends from 12Noon until service time. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.Friends may sign the register book Thursday from 12Noon until 6:00 P.M at the funeral home.Memorial remembrances are suggested to the Cherryvale Alumni Association and they may be left or mailed to the funeral home
