Gary Lee Shue

Gary Lee Shue, 74, a longtime resident of Fredonia, Kansas, died Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Deseret Health & Rehab in Yates Center, Kansas. He was born May 22, 1940 in rural Neodesha, Kansas, the son of Edwin William and Elva May (Milligan) Shue. Gary was a 1958 graduate of Fredonia High School. He owned and operated Shue Oil Company and also farmed for many years. On August 19, 1960 in Wichita, Kansas, Gary was united in marriage to Linda Seay. Linda survives at their home. Gary was a member of the First Christian Church and the Old Iron Club in Fredonia. He enjoyed hunting and building and competing in truck and tractor pulls nationwide. Survivors in addition to Linda include: Two daughters: Brenda K. Shue of Fredonia, KS Sherrill L. Shue-Hawk and her husband Bob of Columbia, SC Brothers: Bob and Jo Shue of Fredonia, KS Dan Shue of Eureka, KS Ralph and Vicki Shue of Wichita, KS Donnie and Beverly Shue of Haysville, KS Sister: Grace Crawshaw of Fredonia, KS He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Gary "Scott" Shue. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at the First Christian Church in Fredonia with Pastor Claude Shue officiating. Private inurnment will be in the Fredonia City Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Gary"s name with Old Iron Club and contributions can be sent to or left at the funeral home.
