OBITUARY FOR EVA LOUISE MOULTON

Just five days after her husband of 71 years went home to be with the Lord, Louise Moulton joined him in glory.

(Eva) Louise Moulton, 90, of Thayer, departed this earth on May 15, 2019, at Neodesha, Kansas.

She was born July 24, 1928, in Las Vegas, New Mexico, to Lyle Martin Creamer and Vera Frankenbery Creamer. She was graduated from Neodesha High School in 1946.

Louise married Fred Moulton on April 22, 1948, in Neodesha, KS. They lived in Wyoming, Colorado, Texas, Oklahoma and California before settling in the Chanute area in 1957. They moved to Thayer in 1972 where they have since resided.

Louise worked as a telephone operator before joining the staff at the Chanute Tribune in 1962; she held various positions at the Tribune, retiring in 1990 after 28 years of service. Even after retirement, until age 87 Louise continued to write the “Looking Back” column for the newspaper.

Louise was an avid reader of both fiction and non-fiction and was a life-long Bible student; until recently, she often used her computer for research and communications.

Survivors include one son, Fred Moulton, Jr., of San Jose, CA; one daughter and son-in-law, Dinah and David Myers, Fredonia; a brother and sister-in-law, Lyle and Connie Creamer, Cypress, CA; two grandchildren and their spouses, Tiffany and Layne Harris, NY, and Chad and Leyla Myers, VA, along with two great-grandsons, Jackson and Isaac Myers, VA. Louise also leaves behind several cousins, nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and one sister, Evelyn Stewart.

As per her wishes, a private burial has taken place in Ross Cemetery, Neodesha, KS, with Wickham Family Funeral Home handling the arrangements.
