Esther L. White

Esther L. White, 96, a resident of Fredonia, Kansas, died Thursday, October 19, 2006 at Golden Living Center of Neodesha, Kansas. She was born April 14, 1910 in Fredonia, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Vollmar) Stroud. She was a graduate of Fredonia High School. Following graduation she worked for a few years at Gaede Bakery in Fredonia. She spent most of her adult life as a homemaker. On April 6, 1935 in Fredonia, she married Warren Clyde White. He preceded her in death November 20, 1988. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Fredonia. Her interests included cooking, baking and her kittens. Her Survivors include: One son and daughter-in-law: Danny & Nancy White of Fredonia, KS Two sisters: Maurine McCalment of Fort Scott, KS Lorraine Brown of McAllen, TX One brother: Harold Stroud of Chanute, KS 3 Grandchildren; 4 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great-Great Grandchild She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Bill Stroud and Joe Stroud; and one sister, Josephine Duren. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 21, 2006 at the Fredonia City Cemetery with Pastor Gary Sherman of the First Assembly of God Church officiating. Memorials have been established in her name with the Relay For Life and the First Assembly of God Church and may be sent to the funeral home.
