Eldin Nightengale

Eldin Nightengale, 78, a resident of Fredonia, died Friday, September 30, 2005, at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. He was born April 2, 1927 in Copeland, Kansas, the son of Carl and Minnie (Voth) Nightengale. He was a 20 year maintenance employee of Wilson County. On May 21, 1949 in Bentonville, Arkansas, he married Bonnie May Key. She preceded him in death February 2, 1975. On January 30, 1976 in Fredonia, he married Barbara E. (Bassett)Tierce. She survives at their home. He attended the Church of God In Christ-Mennonite, rural Fredonia. His survivors, in addition to his wife, Barbara, include: Son & Daughter-In-Law:Ed & Sharon Nightengale of Fredonia Daughters & Sons-In-Law: Judy & Larry Kettleman of Wichita; Belinda & Ronnie Bryant of Fredonia Stepchildren: Pandora Smith of Atlanta, GA; Debbie Pryer of Knoxville, TN: Pat Tierce of Topeka, KS Brothers & Sisters-In-Law:Ivan & Lora Nightengale of Delhi, CA; Vernon & Waunell Nightengal of Delhi, CA; Delbert & Lenore Nightengale of Livingston, CA; Sisters & Brothers-In-Law: Susan & Gene Koehn of Winton, CA; Janie & Art Hibdon of Delhi, CA; Elvina Banks of Joplin, MO; Neoma Mayeske of Fredonia, KS; Frances & Jay Koehn of Montezuma, KS; Bertha Kanaan of Hilmar, CA 12 Grandchildren; 19 Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents, two small brothers and one sister, Myrtle. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 4, 2005, at the Timmons Funeral Home Chapel with James Shultz of the Church of God In Christ Mennonite officiating. Burial will be in the Fredonia City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday,5:00-7:00 P.M. A memorial has been established in his name with the Newborn Intensive Care Unit at Wesley Medical Center and may be sent to the funeral home.
