Dorothy W. Morrison, 90, a resident of Fredonia, Kansas, died Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at her home in Fredonia. She was born April 5, 1923 in Gilford, Kansas, the daughter of Robert Fritz Heinrich Lewis and Nellie Frances (Morse) Gunther. Dorothy was a certified med aide and worked in several healthcare facilities in the area. On November 24, 1937 in Independence, Kansas, Dorothy was united in marriage to Delbert Quentin Morrison. He preceded her in death February 10, 1994. Dorothy was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Fredonia. She had a love for quilting, gardening and tending to her flowers. Dorothy"s survivors include: Daughters: Carole (Bob) Imel of Fredonia, Kansas Joyce Lambert of Fredonia, Kansas Correne (Chuck) Elliott of Neodesha, Kansas Lynnette (Kent) Ambrose of Fredonia, Kansas Sister: Mildred Louise Morse of Canyon City, CO 18 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; and 22 great-great grandchildren Her parents, Robert and Nellie Gunther; husband, Delbert Morrison; daughters, Sherri Eileen and Margaret Faith; and grandson, Brian Imel preceded her in death. A memorial graveside will be held at 9:00 A.M., Saturday, August 31, 2013 at the Fredonia City Cemetery with Pastor Ray Pile of the First Assembly of God Church officiating. Memorials have been established in Dorothy"s name with the Fredonia Food Bank and Hometown Health Care and contributions can be sent to or left with Timmons Funeral Home.
