Dorothy E. Duckworth

Dorothy, quietly passed away, December 5, 2021, at the
Health and Rehab Center in Yates Center, Kansas. She was born to Bryon and Ruby (Maxwell) Porter of rural Fredonia on October 20, 1939, she grew up on the farm, with her parents and brother, Wayne. Dorothy was involved in 4-H growing up, graduating from
Fredonia High School In 1957.

Dorothy married Glenn Duckworth on July 27, 1957, they lived on the
hill, rural Fredonia, for 61 years, before moving to Fredonia, as Glenn’s
health declined and passed on February 14, 2020.

Dorothy was a farmer’s wife, raising cattle, hogs, sheep, wheat,
soybeans and hay. Owned the Coyville Café for many years, before
working at the Fredonia IGA and USD #484. During her 30 plus
years working for USD #484 – she drove 3 generations of many county
families to school and many activity trips.

Dorothy found time to be a 4-H leader, Election board member,
Township board officer, Water district #9 bookkeeper, Farmington
Cemetery board member, VFW member, friend, neighbor and
bonus Mom to many.

Preceded in death by husband, Glenn, daughter Teresa, her parents
Bryon and Ruby Porter.

Dorothy is survived
by daughter, Toni (Duckworth) Moore of Pasadena, Texas, Granddaughters, Tiffany
(Ryan) Choma and Kelsey (John) Ortiz
5 Great Grandsons – Beckett, Brooks and Baylor Choma, Liam and Wyatt Ortiz of Houston, Texas
Brother – Wayne (Mary) Porter of rural Fredonia
Brother-in-Law – Gary Duckworth of Fredonia
Sister-in-laws – Shirley (Dee) Tindle of rural Fredonia, Kay (Rod) England of Tazewell, Tennessee, many nieces, nephews, cousins.

Graveside services will be January 8th, 2022, at 10:30 a.m., at Farmington Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions be made to the Ronald McDonald
House of the 4 – states, may be left at Wickham Family Funeral Home 510 North
7th, Fredonia, Kansas 66736
