DOROTHY A. MINNIEARDorothy A. Minniear, 95, of Cherryvale, Kansas passed away Sunday, June 7, 2015 at Elm Haven West Nursing Home"in Parsons, Kansas.Dorothy A. Minniear was born October 19, 1919 in Alluwe, Oklahoma the daughter of James Overfelt and Maude (Herring) Overfelt. She grew in Alluwe and attended schools there.On March 15, 1940 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma she was united in marriage to Isaac "Chief" Oscar Minniear Jr. and he preceded her in death May of 2000.Her favorite hobbies were arts and crafts and she loved animals. Dorothy loved her family and was a homemaker.She lived in Chanute, Kansas for 20 years before moving to Cherryvale in 1999. She was a member of the White Shrine, Red Cross Volunteer and Ladies Army Auxiliary.Survivors include daughter, Janet Gibson and husband Kenneth of Cherryvale, Kansas, sisters Dorine Wood of Dewey, Oklahoma, Billie Banke of Chelsea, Oklahoma, grandson Mark A. Miller of Overland Park, Kansas, 4 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 sisters, 5 brothers and grandson, Christopher Miller.Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Wickham Family Funeral, 216 East 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas with Pastor John Chastain, officiating.Memorial remembrances are suggested to Cherryvale Presbyterian Church or Gentevia and they may be left or mailed to the funeral home.
