Doris Irene Morton

Doris Irene Morton, 81, a lifelong resident of Altoona, Kansas, died Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Diversicare of Chanute, Kansas. She was born July 1, 1934 in Altoona, the daughter of Wilford and Emma (Robbins) York. Doris was a homemaker. On December 7, 1958 in Altoona, Doris was united in marriage to Bernard W. Morton. He preceded her in death November 15, 1991. Doris was a member of the First Baptist Church in Altoona, where she helped in the nursery for many years. Her survivors include: Daughter: Donna Aldridge of Altoona, KS Four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Robert James Morton; sisters, Nadine Stephens and Mildred McGuire; and great grandson, Corbin Brown. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, October 16, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Altoona. Burial will be in the Altoona Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, Noon-1:00 P.M. at the church. A memorial has been established in Doris" name with the American Diabetes Association and contributions can be sent to or left with Timmons Funeral Home.
