Donald Dwayne Shockley, 73, a resident of Lakeside Estates near Fall River, Kansas, formerly of Wichita, Kansas, died Wednesday, July 18, 2007, at his home. He was born June 28, 1934 in Aurora, Missouri, the son of George Amos and Pearl (Cheney) Shockley. He served in the United States Army January 10, 1957 to January 9, 1959. He worked for more than 50 years as a route salesman. On March 7, 1957 in Newkirk, Oklahoma, he married Virginia Riddle. She survives at their home. Mr. Shockley was a member of the Central Christian Church and the St. Jude"s Childrens Hospital Association. His favorite hobby in life was singing and playing at the Fall River Hootenannies. Survivors, in addition to his wife, Virginia, include: One Son: Gary Shockley of Dubuque, Iowa Four Daughters: Sharon Cockrum of Lathrop, Missouri Pamela McPherson of Wichita, Kansas Janice Ortleb of Plano, Texas Michelle Freeman of Wichita, Kansas One Brother: Eugene Shockley of Fall River, Kansas 11 Grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by twin granddaughters, Tiffany and Steffany Freeman. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, July 24, 2007, at Timmons Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Bayless officiating. Burial will be in the Weakley Cemetery near New Albany, Kansas. Friends may call at Timmons Funeral Home on Monday, 2:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M., where the family will receive friends 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. Memorials have been established in his name with the St. Jude"s Childrens Hospital or Angels Home Health Care and may be sent to the funeral home.
