DIXIE JANICE GRAVESDixie J. Graves, 73, of Cross Lanes, West Virginia formerly of Cherryvale, Kansas passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Monday, January 13, 2014 at her home.Celebration of Life services will at the Cherryvale Presbyterian Church Saturday, January 18th at 2:00 P.M. with the Rev. John Chastain, officiating.Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Wickham Family Funeral Home of Cherryvale.Memorial are suggested to the Cherryvale Presbyterian Church and may left at the church or the funeral home.Dixie was born April 16, 1940, to Thomas Glen and Helen Dixie (McDaniel) Moore Sr., in Pampa, Texas." After her parents divorced her father remarried and she and her brother were raised by her father and step-mother Dorsie Faye Hackley.She grew up in Pampa and attended the Pampa school system.Dixie married Herman "Lee" Graves Jr., on June 11, 1973." Dixie and Lee made their home in Euless, TX, before moving to Cherryvale." He preceded her in death in November 1990.Dixie attended business school and went to work as a legal secretary." She later went to Bible College and went to work for Kenneth Copeland." After moving to Cherryvale, Dixie worked for area attorneys, Montgomery County and Peoples State Bank." She helped Lee with his oil field supply business and gun shop and owned and operated a craft business and a catering business.Dixie loved God and served Him faithfully." She loved cooking, crafts, sewing, quilting and gardening." She was member of the Cherryvale Presbyterian Church.Dixie was preceded in death by her husband, her father and her brother Thomas Glen Moore Jr." She is survived by her step-mother, step-brother Gary Hackley of Independence; a step-sister, Sharon Evans of Fletcher, OK; step-sister, Beverly Blakemore of Houston, TX; son, Michael Graves and his wife Kim of San Antonio, TX; two daughters, Diana Graves of West Virginia, Lydia Collins of Cherryvale, KS, two granddaughters, four grandsons, four step-granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.
