Diane Sue Mollnow

Diane Sue Mollnow, 67, of Fredonia, Kansas, passed away at her home on Wednesday, May 26, 2021.

Diane was born May 6, 1954, to Robert and Lillian (Kubat) Knight in Omaha, Nebraska.

Diane graduated from Shawnee Mission High School in 1972. She received her Bachelor of Science from Pittsburg State University in 1976, Master’s Degree from Pittsburg State and Specialist Degree from Emporia State University.

On April 4, 1977 Diane was united in marriage to Dennis Mollnow in Miami, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on March 24, 2014.

Diane was a well-loved teacher at Fredonia USD # 484, since 1977. She touched many young people’s lives throughout her career. After her retirement, Diane continued to substitute in the district and influence many young people. She was highly respected and admired by her colleagues.

She was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority, PEO, Fredonia Arts Council, Library Committee and Hospital Board.

Diane was a history buff and enjoyed the arts. She will be remembered for her love of family and friends, her wonderful sense of humor and dedication to teaching.

Diane is survived by her mother, Lillian Knight Meradith , Fredonia, Kansas, sisters; Nancy Vaught Winfield, Kansas, Barbara Wilson, Olathe, Kansas, brother; Robert Knight, Mission Hills, Kansas, nephews and nieces; Rob Vaught, Jessi Leeper, Kelli Lauritsen, Rob Knight, Danny Knight and Madison Wilson

In addition to her, husband, Dennis, Diane was preceded in death by her father.

Celebration of Life Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M., Friday, June 4, 2021, at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the Diane Mollnow Teacher Appreciation Fund and may be mailed to or left at the funeral home.
