Delores Jane Edens

Delores Jane Edens, 64, a longtime resident of Fredonia, Kansas, died unexpectedly on Saturday, December 26, 2009 at Fredonia Regional Hospital. She was born April 2, 1945 in Morrillton, Arkansas, the daughter of Horace Darr and Emage Irene (Scroggins) Luster. Delores spent her childhood years in Morrillton and was graduated from Morrillton High School. On August 25, 1963, in Springfield, Arkansas, she married Luther Edens Jr. They began their married life in Fredonia where they were blessed with two children, Nichole and Erik. She was a very active member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah"s Witnesses. Delores worked in Fredonia for many years. She may have seen you at Bank Note, City Drug Store, Wilco Veterinary Clinic, or most recently, at the Wilson County Health Department. She retired in 2008. Following her retirement, she began full-time ministry through the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah"s Witnesses, where she was dedicated to helping others. Her favorite job of all was being wife, mother and grandma. In addition to her husband, Junior Edens, Delores is survived by: One daughter and son-in-law: Nichole and Dustin Conner of Fredonia, KS One son and daughter-in-law: Erik and Jo Ann Edens of Baxter Springs, KS One sister and brother-in-law: Donna and Larry Engstrom of Coyville, KS One brother and sister-in-law: Darrell and Faydene Malone of Greenbrier, AR Four grandchildren: Olivia Conner and Sawyer Conner of Fredonia, KS Dawson Edens & Ashya Gerbitz of Baxter Springs, KS She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at the Timmons Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Fredonia City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Timmons Funeral Home on Tuesday, 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. A memorial has been established in Delores" name with the Fredonia Kingdom Hall.
