Dale Carter

Born June 22, 1931 to John & Edith Carter in Strang, OK.

Education:
Graduated from Jay High School
Earned bachelor’s degree in education from Northeast Oklahoma University and master’s degree in vocational education from PSU.

Military
Served in the Army from 1952-1954. Earned Korean Service Medal, United National Service Medal and various marksman medals.

Dale taught math, driver’s ed., drafting, woodworking, electricity, and electronics at Fredonia High School for 34 years. He was the “Teacher of the Year’ in 1984.

Dale was an avid hunter, fisherman, and storyteller. He hunted in Africa, Argentina, Alaska, Yukon, and locally.

Dale was a member of the Calvary Wesleyan Church in Fredonia since 1991 and served on the church board for many years.

Sisters: Wanda Hedrick of Jay, OK
Deta & Red Hogan of Salina, OK

Preceded in death: parents, son, Eric, two sisters, and a brother.
Memorial: Fredonia Education Foundation towards vocational education

Family and friends may sign the register book from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Monday, April 30, 2018 at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 510 North 7th, Fredonia, Kansas 66736
Celebration of Life Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Calvary Wesleyan Church, 1900 Washington, Fredonia, Kansas 66736.
Interment will follow in Fredonia City Cemetery, Fredonia, Kansas.
