Curtis E. "Gene" Reno, 88, a longtime resident of Fredonia, Kansas, died Saturday, January 12, 2008 at the Wilson County Hospital in Neodesha, Kansas. He was born August 15, 1919 in Woodson County, Kansas, the son of Clarence Ralph and Alice Hazel (Sellers) Reno. On January 6, 1941 in Neosho, Missouri, he married Georgia Pearl Keeler. She preceded him in death November 25, 2007. Mr. Reno worked for 30 years with his wife delivering local freight. He later worked for Wilson County, where he retired in 1986. His survivors include: Two Daughters: Judith Ann Sanborn of Wichita, KS Karen Troutman of Independence, KS Five Sisters: Velma Marler of Neodesha, KS Gladys McLaren of Alice, TX Pat Hale of Wichita, KS JoAnne Radabaugh of Ponca City, OK Joyce Dewey of Oklahoma City, OK 8 grandchildren and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Virginia Clynch; and one son, Kenneth Eugene Reno. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at the Coyville Cemetery with Pastor Jeremiah Baird of the Bible Baptist Church officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, 2:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. where the family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the American Heart Association and those may be sent to the funeral home. Family condolences may be sent to www.timmonsfuneralhome.com.
