Charles “Chuck” Edward Splechter, 61, long time resident of Buffalo, Kansas, passed away Monday, October 14, 2019 as a result of injuries he sustained from a motorcycle accident in Woodson County.

Charles Edward Splechter was born July 16, 1958 in Neodesha, Kansas to Frank and Norma Louise (Bishop) Splechter. He graduated from Altoona Midway in 1976 and Auctioneer College in Kansas City, Missouri in 1977.

On August 6, 1977 he was untied in marriage to Mary Evelyn Gregory in Buffalo, Kansas. She preceded him in death April 16, 1989. He is survived at the home, by his significant other, Amy Corban-Morris.

Chuck was a salesman, farmer, rancher, worked at Young’s welding, Buckeye and Great Plains. He was also an auctioneer for many years.

Chuck was a Buffalo Volunteer Fire Department Member since 1975. His favorite hobbies included, going to auctions, cows, spending time with his grand kids, gun collecting and hunting. He was the best salesman. He was a race car driver, bull rider, and (Swamp Fox) truck driver. Chuck wasn’t a shy guy, he never met a stranger, was friends with everyone and would help anyone any way he could.

Survivors include his significant other, Amy at the home; children, Faye Marie (David) Jenson of Evansville, Wyoming, Trampis Edward (Nicole) Splechter of Buffalo, Kansas, sisters; Fran Young of Medina, Texas, Nancy Pollman of Yates Center, Kansas, Susan Hensley of Meridian, Texas, brothers; Earl Splechter of Yates Center, Kansas, Ronnie Splechter of LaHarpe, Kansas, Stacy Splechter of Chanute, Kansas, and Joe Splechter of Sublette, Kansas. Grandchildren, Zachary Moore, Gemma Jenson and Wyatt Splechter.

Chuck was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, parents and two sisters, Linda Ashenfelter and Ruth Tate.

Celebration of His Life will be held, Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Buffalo Methodist Church. Visitation will be Monday 5:00-7:00 at Wickham Family Funeral Home 510 N. 7th Fredonia, Kansas. Interment will be at the Buffalo Cemetery. Dinner will be served following the Interment at the Buffalo Community Center.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Buffalo Volunteer Fire Department and may be left or mailed to Wickham Family Funeral Home, 510 N. 7th, Fredonia, Kansas 66736
