Carl Lee Puckett, 52, a lifelong resident of Fredonia, Kansas, died Monday, June 9, 2014 at his home. He was born November 5, 1961 in Fredonia, the son of Stephen Carl and Glenda May (Pullan) Puckett. He was a 1980 graduate of Fredonia High School. Following High School, Carl worked for Archer Daniels Midland Company in Fredonia for 22 years until the plant closed the Fredonia operation in 2002. Carl then became co-owner and operator of Rite Way Concrete, LLC in Fredonia, where he worked until his health declined. On June 2, 1984 in Fredonia, Carl was united in marriage to the love of his life, Annette Cole. She survives at their home. He attended the Fredonia Church of God. For Carl, fishing was a way of life and he taught this to his children. He also enjoyed deer hunting and gold panning throughout the years. In addition to his wife Annette, Carl is survived by: One son: Thomas Lee Puckett of Fredonia, KS One daughter: Kailee Mae Puckett of Fredonia, KS Mother & Step Father: Glenda and Mike Halper of Fredonia, KS In-Laws: Jerry and Marjorie Cole of Fredonia, KS Two brothers: Mike Puckett of Fredonia, KS Aaron Puckett of Fredonia, KS Sister: Dena Weller of Fort Smith, AR Stepbrother: Shawn Michael Halper of Woodward, OK Stepsisters: Tammy Withers of Wichita, KS Shala Sams of Atlanta, GA Sister In Law: Belinda Cole Crowe of Yates Center, KS He was preceded in death by his father, Stephen Carl Puckett; one son, Jeffrey Alan Puckett; one sister, Kathy May Boden; and one nephew, Stephen Reddick. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at the First Assembly of God Church in Fredonia with Rev. Eldon Myers officiating. Private family inurnment will take place in the Fredonia City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 13, 2014, 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at Timmons Funeral Home. A memorial has been established in Carl"s name with Envision Kids Club and contributions may be sent to the funeral home. Words of condolence may be left on this website.
