Billie Marie Scott

Billie Marie Scott, 82, a resident of Fredonia, Kansas, died Monday, April 25, 2011 at Golden Living Center in Fredonia. She was born July 18, 1928 in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Rex and Pearl (Van Dyke) Showers. She was a homemaker. On May 10, 1947, Billie was united in marriage to Jim Shue. He preceded her in death on April 9, 1986. In January 1992, she married Ben Scott and he survives. Billie was a member of the First Christian Church in Fredonia, the Tuesday Study Club and the Friday Study Club. Survivors, in addition to her husband, Ben include: One daughter: Sherry Cunningham of Topeka, KS One son: James G. Shue of Neodesha, KS One sister: Sybil Fields of Fredonia, KS Three grandchildren and eight great grandchildren Two sisters, Cecil Koch and Laura Rexene Ball preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at the First Christian Church with Rev. Milo Steffen officiating. Burial will be in the Cheatham/Koger Cemetery, south of Fredonia. In lieu of visitation, friends may sign the register book at the funeral home prior to the funeral. Memorials have been established in Billie"s name with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice of Coffeyville and the American Cancer Society and donations can be sent to Timmons Funeral Home.
