Betty Jean Beemer, 84, a resident of rural Fredonia, Kansas, died Thursday, May 18, 2006 at Beverly Health & Rehab in Fredonia. She was born March 27, 1922 in rural Fredonia, the daughter of Harley Kelsey and Nellie Mae (Crawshaw) Shinkle. She was a graduate of Lafontaine High School. On February 1, 1941 in Fredonia, she married Kenneth Beemer. He survives at their home. She was a homemaker and farmer"s wife. She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church. She participated in sewing club and H.D.U. and was a 4-H Club leader. Survivors, in addition to her husband, Kenneth, include: One Daughter, Jeanean Wright of Altoona, KS One Son, Kelsey Beemer of Helena, MT Six Grandchildren and Five Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; and two brothers. Funeral services will be held at 10:00A.M. on Saturday, May 20, 2006 at the Timmons Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Trudy Kenyon Anderson of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Fredonia City Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, 2:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. A memorial has been established in her name with the American Heart Association and may be sent to the funeral home.
