BETTY JEAN STACYBetty J. Stacy. 87, of Cherryvale, Kansas passed away Monday, September 2, 2013 at the Cherryvale Nursing and Rehab Center surrounded by her family.Celebration of Life Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M., Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Wickham Family Funeral, 216 East 4th, Cherryvale, KS" with Pastor Louie Celaya, officiating.Friends may sign the register book from 12 Noon until 8:00 P.M. and the family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home.Memorial remembrances are suggested to Camp Quality NW Missouri and they may be left at the funeral home or mailed to 216 East. 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas" 67335.Betty Jean Stacy was born November 26, 1925 in Labette City, Kansas the daughter of Clarence Leroy Stacy and Essie A. (Frew) Stacy.She received her G.E.D and worked various jobs threw out her life." From 1943 to 1950 she was employed by Reliance Mfg. Co. in Cherryvale as a sewing machine operator inspector." 1950 to 1951 she worked for Fram, Inc. in Independence, Kansas on the assembly line as a water tester, packer and bolt machine operator." From 1952 to 1958 she worked for Continental Can Company in Coffeyville, Kansas as a sheet metal worker." She later worked from 1958 until 1968 at Cherryvale Mfg. Co. as a Top Presser." From 1968 until 1977 she was employed by Fred Ronald Mfg. Co, in Parsons, Kansas as a final Inspector in a garment factory." She also worked for Housel-Miller Inc. from 1977 to January 1978 as a welder on a assembly line." Later on in her life she worked as a greeter for Wal-Mart in Independence in the Lawn Garden Department.Betty went back to school in 1996 and received a certified training certificate for beginning computers.She was very active in playing, coaching and umpiring softball." She also enjoyed fishing and bike riding and canastaSurvivors include, one brother, Leroy "Bud" Stacy and his wife Maxine of Cherryvale, Kansas, nephews, Bob Ott and his wife Dianne of Salina, Kansas, Bill Ott and his wife Linda of Cherryvale, Kansas, Jim Stacy of Richland, Washington, Mike and Mark Stacy of Pilot Point, Texas, niece, Helen Berkshire of Corte Lane, Idaho, Debbie Mitchell of Coffeyville, Kansas, Cathy Walker of Chanute, Kansas, great great nephew, Jonathon Thompson of Cherryvale and great great niece, Linsey Ackerman of Coffeyville, Kansas.She was preceded in death her parents, 3 brothers, Bill Stacy, Jay Stacy, Donald Stacy, 4 sisters, Francis McGuire, Opal Ott-Myers, Lucille Spencer and Hazel Stacy.
