Beryl Olive Costin

March 26, 1920 — April 7, 2016

Beryl Olive Costin, 96, of Altoona, Kansas died April 7, 2016 at Heritage Health Care of Chanute, Kansas. She had a love for the family and worked very hard as a homemaker and assisting her husband of 72 years in the farm and ranch operation. She was an active member of the Colfax Baptist Church of which she taught Sunday School classes to both young and old. She also was a song leader for many years. Hobbies of interest included working daily crosswords, reading and crocheting. Beryl was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac "Ike" Costin, mother and father, five brothers and one sister. Survivors include three daughters, Marilyn Baker of Derby, Kansas, Karen Costin of Altoona, Kansas, Mary Hawkins of Haysville, Kansas, one son, Joe Costin of Altoona, Kansas, 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that memorial remembrances be donated to church a church of choice to further God"s missions. Bethel Baptist, The First Baptist Church of Chanute or High Prairie Methodist Church rural Altoona and they may be left or mailed to Timmons Funeral Home, 510 N. 7th, Fredonia, Kansas 66736. Visitation will be held from 5 P.M. until 7:00 P.M, Monday, April 11, 2016 at Timmons Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Colfax Cemetery with Max Dawson, officiating.
